A Rosh Hashanah reflection from Ilana

It is hard to enter this High Holiday season without thinking about the world around us.

We are all living through incredibly challenging times.

Over these last few years, there have been moments when it felt like the floor was falling out from under my feet.

To borrow a line from the Beatles, when I find myself in times of trouble, it's my grandparents and great-grandparents who come to me, speaking words of wisdom.

Last year, while sitting in shul on Rosh Hashanah, my mind wandered to them, and how they navigated the challenges of their own eras.

Where did they find the inner strength to persevere?

What helped them maintain hope and faith when everything around them felt so uncertain?

And what did they most want us to remember about them?

Myra and her memoir-writer, Aviva

So much of what we inherit from our loved ones is not tangible, but rather the stories, the values, and the lessons they shared with us.

I created Capture Your Story to help parents and grandparents share the experiences and lessons that shaped their lives with their children, grandchildren, and future generations, turning them into beautifully written Life Story books for your family to cherish for years to come.

As we step into this new year, I encourage you to reflect on the legacy you have inherited and the stories you want to ensure your family will carry forward.

If there is someone whose story you have been meaning to capture, I'd love to hear about them.

Wishing you and your family a Shana Tova U'Metuka, a year filled with good health, happiness, peace, and connection.
