Why it’s time to stop waiting and start preserving the stories that matter
Lately, I’ve been hearing the same thing from so many people:
“I’ve always wanted to capture my parent’s (or grandparent’s) story, but I don’t know where to start.”
And honestly? I get it.
Life is full. We’re busy. There’s always something more urgent demanding our attention.
So we tell ourselves we’ll get to it someday.
But someday often turns into never.
Sometimes it’s about time (or not having enough of it).

Sometimes it’s the challenge of convincing a loved one that their story is worth telling. And often, it’s just not knowing what the first step should be.
Here’s what I’ve learned after working with dozens of families: Every story matters. The journey. The quiet strength. The humor, the struggle, the moments that shaped a life.
These stories are worth preserving - not just for the person telling them, but for everyone who comes after.
Imagine your children or grandchildren one day reading about the life your parent lived—in their own words. Imagine the connection they’ll feel to their roots. To where they come from. To who they are.
“I didn’t know how much this would mean to me until I held the book in my hands. I gave it to my kids, and they cried. We all did.”— CYS client
That’s the power of a life story book. And yes - it really is possible.
So go ahead: make yourself a coffee (or chai, or matcha!) and let’s talk about how to make it happen. You don’t need to have it all figured out. That’s what we’re here for.
