"I have been working with Ilana from Capture Your Story for the last year, putting in writing my father’s life story.
My father suffers from Parkinson’s disease and I saw a year ago that he was starting to have some difficulty with his speech. I knew he had an incredible life story and I knew that I had never really taken the time to really dig into all the details of his life and truly understand his journey. I was scared if I waited too long, it would be too late, so I hired Ilana to write the story of his life for his grandchildren.
The journey to writing this book was long but so rewarding. It gave me time to speak to my dad, understand his timeline, where he studied, where he lived, the things he is most proud of, his regrets, and some valuable life sessions to cherish for the next generations. As time went by, my dad’s speech became harder and harder to understand, but Ilana and her team of writers were just SO patient with him. They are real-life calming angels who worked at his pace and enabled him to complete this project with his degrading health but with respect and honor.
